The Realme X2 is receiving its its second major operating system upgrade, release version RMX1992EX_11_F.21, as of yesterday. Realme’s mid-range device has thus started transitioning to Android 11 some nineteen months following its launch with Android 9. As of today, the firmware is only available in India for the LTE model.
It remains to be seen how long will this rollout take to be completed, and we can confirm that it brings realme UI 2.0 onboard. Android 11 based realme UI 2.0 comes with new features such as an improved dark mode, digital wellbeing, a new private space to hide apps/files, an upgraded security shield, call blocklist, app permission security, payment service security, and all the new Android 11‘s security features. Check out this Realme UI 2.0 post to know more about realme UI 2.0 in depth.
To any of our readers who own a Realme X2, you can check whether the new update is already available in your territory by launching Settings, tapping Software update, and then Download and install. Otherwise, full system images containing both the Android 11-based OS and the realme UI 2.0 should be available for downloaded from realme’s firmware archives, assuming you have a compatible Realme X2 model.
This is Realme X2’s second major Android OS upgrade, and Realme will not be providing it with another big update and may restrict it to security updates. That said, do let us know your thoughts by dropping a comment down below.
