Realme has released a new update for its Realme 5 smartphone, which was first released in India two years ago. The newest security update is included in this update for the 5 series smartphone. While Realme is known to offer the most recent upgrades to not only the newly announced smartphones but also a few of the older handsets, the Realme 5 has not and will not receive the Realme UI 2.0 update.
This latest update for the Realme 5 arrives with a build number of RMX1971_11_F.05 and features the March 2022 security patch. Optimizations for system stability and improvements in the overall performance of the Realme 5 are also included. Furthermore, the update fixes up to over 50 vulnerabilities and many known bugs and issues on the smartphone. Here’s the F.05 update changelog:

If you are a Realme 5 user in India, you can check for the OTA software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. Alternatively, a clean install of the software can be done after downloading the latest firmware file from realme’s database and flashing it manually.
The Realme 5 won’t be receiving the realme UI 2.0 update. The is a disheartening piece of news for the fans and users of the Realme 5, 5s,5i and even the Realme 3 which shipped with Android 9 Pie on board and as per the company’s policies should have been eligible for at least 2 major OS updates.
