According to Madhav Sheth, Realme’s CEO, all Realme smartphones priced above Rs 15,000 will feature 5G technology going forward. In a tweet earlier today, he “promised” Realme’s followers and customers that all phones above 15k will have 5G connectivity. At the moment, the Realme 8 5G is one of the most cheapest 5G smartphones one can purchase in India, and is sold within the Rs 15,000 price point. Let us take a look at what the executive promised.
Due to this development, for any Realme smartphone over 15k in India, we expect to see a wide range of budget and mid-range processors that are capable of providing 5G connectivity. However, the number of 5G bands on the devices remains a mystery. There is a good chance that other OEMs competing for market share in India’s market will follow Realme’s lead and may offer 5G connectivity under all price brackets.
I promise #realmeFans that going forward all the new realme products above 15K will be 5G only!
????Flagbearer of realme’s 5G plans, #realmeGT will launch in this quarter with multiple GT products
????We will also expand narzo series since it is truly the #DemocratizerOf5G pic.twitter.com/k5BNXkP5jY— Madhav Max 5G (@MadhavSheth1) July 7, 2021
As part of his claims, Sheth also mentioned that the Realme GT, and the Realme GT Master Edition (possibly), which are said to provide a premium experience, will arrive in India “this quarter”, which is equivalent to any time starting now (that is July) and September. He also suggested that Realme would launch multiple GT products along with the Realme GT, pointing to the fact that Realme could release a bunch of new smartphones designed for “Specific” purposes, such as a camera flagship. Realme will continue to add smartphones to its Narzo line in the future as well, calling it a “democratiser of 5G.”
