How to Set up Pattern, Pin, Face unlock, and Fingerprint Lock in Realme Smartphones

There are a number of options for securing your device by setting up a screen lock. It could be either setting up a PIN or a password or pattern coupled with fingerprint and face unlock.

1] Setting Up Pin, Pattern, and Password Lock

Passwords are one of the most secure ways to lock your device. A password may contain letters, numbers, special symbols, or even patterns, which gives the user flexibility to make tough passwords to lock their devices. As of now, there are a total of four types of passwords you can apply for: Pattern, 4 Digit Number Password (PIN), 4-16 Digit Password, and 4-16 Alphanumeric Characters password.

  • Open the Settings Panel on your smartphone
  • Navigate to “Fingerprint, Face & Password
  • Click on Lock Screen Password
  • Here, You will be asked for which of the four types of passwords you’d like to apply
  • Choose any one of them and follow the on-screen instructions to set the password.

2] Setting Up Face Unlock

Face lock is an alternative way to secure your device. This method involves scanning your face to unlock your device. While this isn’t a secure method to unlock your device, it is one of the most convenient ways to do so. Here’s how to set it up:

Note: Before setting up Face Unlock, you need to ensure that you have a screen lock set and enabled.

  • Open the Settings Panel on your smartphone
  • Navigate to “Fingerprint, Face & Password
  • Click on Face Unlock 
  • Here, you’ll be asked for your previously set lock screen password.
  • Once entered, now register your face using the on-screen instructions, and you’re good to go.

3] Setting Up Fingerprint Unlock

Last but not least, Fingerprint lock is yet another secure way to lock the device. This method involves scanning and reading your finger to find a match. One can enroll up to five fingers on a smartphone. Here’s how to do so:

Note: Before setting up Fingerprint Unlock, you need to ensure that you have a screen lock set and enabled.

  • Open the Settings Panel on your smartphone.
  • Navigate to “Fingerprint, Face & Password
  • Head over to the Fingerprint setup.
  • Here, you’ll be asked for your previously set lock screen password.
  • Click on Add Finger, use your fingerprint reader to scan your finger, and repeat the process for the number of fingers you’d like to add.
