July 2021 Update reaches the Realme 8 (with June 2021 Security Patch)

Realme is expanding the June 2021 security update to even more realme and Narzo devices. After releasing it to a bunch of high-end, mid-range, and low-end smartphones over the past month, the Chinese firm is bringing the June security patch to the Realme 8.

The Realme 8 has started getting the new software update in India. The latest update, which has firmware version RMX3085_11.A.18, includes the June 2021 security patch. As per documentation, the new security update should fix a bunch of security and privacy vulnerabilities. The update also says to fix the bugs with realme UI.

If you are a Realme 8 user in India, you can check for the update manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and clicking on Download and install on your device. You can also flash the latest firmware manually after downloading the latest firmware file from realme’s database. Other markets could soon get access to this update.

Realme had launched the Realme 8 back in May 2021 with Android 11-based realme UI 2.0; The phone features a 6.4-inch FHD+ Samsung Super AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the phone is powered by the octa-Core MediaTek Helio G95 SoC with 2 Cortex A76 cores clocked at 2.05Ghz and 6 Cortex A55 cores clocked at 2.0Ghz along with the Mali G76, the chipset is built on 12nm process, and comes with a larger vapour chamber to keep the temperature low while gaming or performing heavy tasks.
