It’s been a long time coming, but the Realme 7 is finally getting the Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 firmware update in India. As many of you know, Realme first updated the Pro model with Android 11 and Realme UI 2.0 back in April. The Realme 7 continued to receive regular security patches since and has now made the jump to Realme UI 2.0 in India. Now, the wait is finally over.
Realme customers who own the unlocked Realme 7 in the country should be greeted with a firmware update notification at any moment. As always, owners can also attempt to trigger the update process from the phone’s Settings menu under Software update, or they can visit Realme’s firmware archive where the company posts new Realme firmware files regularly. The latest update for the Realme 7 can be identified by firmware version RMX2151_11_C.08, and unsurprisingly, it includes the June 2021 security patch.
As for the update itself, Android 11 / Realme UI 2.0 introduces a refreshed user interface along with various improvements to Realme apps and features. Other features include an improved Dark Mode, improved Parental Controls and Digital Wellbeing, additional lock screen customization options and more. Remember that the Realme 7 in India is being updated from Android 10 / Realme UI 1.0, so it’s a pretty big leap to Realme UI 2.0 and not just a routine firmware release.
