Following Apple and Samsung, Realme Wont Ship the Narzo 50A Prime with a Charger in the Box

The Realme Narzo 50A Prime (launched globally) is an upcoming budget segment smartphone from the company that will shortly arrive in India. In recent developments, the manufacturer has confirmed that they will not offer an in-box charger with this new upcoming smartphone. The removal of the charger from retail packaging, originally implemented by Apple for its iPhones, has sparked a new trend among smartphone makers.

Many smartphone manufacturers, including Samsung, have followed by eliminating the charger from the retail packaging. With the debut of the Samsung Galaxy F23 in India, Samsung has started the practice of eliminating the charger from the box (in mid-range phones). Following the same approach, Realme will shortly release the Narzo 50A Prime without a charge in the box and subsequent releases may follow suit.

Realme Won’t Ship the Narzo 50A Prime with a Charger in the Box

Realme, in a post on their Community, announced the decision of removing the charger from the box. The brand says that this decision is to contribute to a more sustainable environment, similar to the reasons cited by the two tech behemoths. Yes, Apple and Samsung have come up with a similar response to the removal of chargers from retail packaging for their smartphones.

“We have taken initiatives to focus on sustainability and are also attempting to achieve Double Zero targets like net-zero carbon emissions by 2025,” said Realme’s VP Madhav Sheth. Furthermore, the business recommended consumers use the 10W chargers that are already in their homes.

The Realme Narzo 50A Prime might sport a 6.6-inch Full HD+ LCD with a peak brightness of 600 nits. The handset will feature a textured back panel similar to the Realme GT series. Under the hood, an octa-core Unisoc T612 SoC may power the device paired with up to 4 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage. The camera setup on the Narzo 50A Prime may include triple cameras featuring a 50MP main camera, a macro camera, and a B&W sensor.

The phone may draw power from a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. The Narzo 50A Prime is said to run on Realme UI R (Android 11). Connectivity options could include a USB Type-C port, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and more.
