Realme 5, 5i, 5s and 5 Pro Get July 2021 Security Update

As we look forward to August’s big Realme Pad, GT series unveiling, this month’s security patch distribution continues without skipping a heartbeat. Realme is now rolling out the July 2021 security update to a bunch of Realme 5 series phones that still have a 3.5mm headphone connector, namely the Realme 5, 5i, 5s and the Realme 5 Pro.

The new update is available in India, at least, and users in these markets can identify the new release by firmware version RMX1971EX_11.C.15 (for the realme 5 Pro). The July 2021 security patch changelog brings fixes to Bluetooth connectivity and other fixes for realme’s own software. The update brings the June and July 2021 security patches and optimizes the system performance and stability.

The firmware version changelog suggests that more features or improvements are not included alongside the new security patch. Realme 5 series owners in regions where the update is rolling out will get an update notification. If it fails to arrive, they can try triggering the update from the Software update menu inside the Settings app. The latest Realme 5 series’s update is also available for download from realme’s firmware section.

Realme has also confirmed that there will be no realme UI 2.0 update for Realme 5, 5i, 5s, and all devices not included in the roadmap. That said, do let us know your thoughts by dropping a comment down below.
