Realme GT 2 with Snapdragon 895 SoC already in the works, confirms representative

In spite of the fact that Realme GT is yet to arrive in India, Realme president has now confirmed that the successor – the Realme GT 2 is already in development. The Realme GT was recently made available to the global market. Earlier, the Realme GT 2 moniker was spotted on Realme’s official website. On Weibo, Wang Wei Derek, President of Realme’s global product line, revealed that Realme’s next flagship phone, that is the Realme GT 2, is in already in the development phase and will feature Snapdragon’s next flagship SoC.

In a Weibo post, Realme’s president confirmed that the Realme GT 2 will feature the Snapdragon 895 and is in development. We don’t expect the device to arrive in the company’s home market before the Snapdragon 895 chipset launches in Q4 2021. Continuing the tradition, the Realme GT 2 is likely to be one of the first few devices to feature the latest and greatest chipset at the time, similar to what the company did with the Realme GT and the Snapdragon 888. The aforementioned post confirmed Realme GT 2’s existence, along with its use of Snapdragon 895, Qualcomm’s next strongest SoC. From what it looks like, Realme GT series phones will only be flagships. There are reports that Realme is also working on a Master Edition of the Realme GT. The rumour mill suggests Realme may be partnering with Kodak to enhance the camera on its phones.

Realme GT Specifications

There’s a 6.43-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a single punch-hole cutout on the left fon the GT. The screen refreshes at 120Hz and has a peak brightness of 1000nits. Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC bundled with Adreno 660 GPU.

The GT packs in a triple camera module consisting of a primary 64-megapixel sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. We can spot a 16-megapixel snapper for selfies and video calls on the front. Camera features on the smartphone include PureRaw mode, AI selfies, 4K 60fps recording, and more.

There’s a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. Other connectivity options on the phone include Dual 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. There’s an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometrics and security, stereo speakers, support for Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res audio.
