5 Different Ways to Lock or Unlock Your Realme Smartphone

Most of us keep our personal data on our smartphones and prefer a lock screen with the mobile device so that no one can access the data without a password of any kind. While Android isn’t as secure as an iOS device, there are multiple lock options available for users to lock their smartphones when not in use or to hide data from others. Here are five different ways using which you can lock or unlock your smartphone if smartly enabled.

1] Use Swipe lock

One of the most common methods of unlocking, Swipe lock doesn’t require a password or a PIN. Instead, a user just needs to swipe from the centre of the screen to unlock the realme device. Here’s how you can go around setting it up on a device running realme UI.

  1. Start by opening the Settings application.
  2. Navigate to Fingerprint, Face and Password > Lockscreen Password.
  3. Next, choose Swipe from the drop-down.
  4. With this, you’ll have a new swipe lock screen set.

2] Use Pattern

Next, we have is Pattern, this method involves connecting dots. All you need to do is, set a new pattern and the next time you try to unlock your device, you’ll either need to unlock using a fingerprint, face unlock or the pattern itself.

  • Start by opening the Settings application.
  • Navigate to Fingerprint, Face and Password > Lockscreen Password.
  • Next, choose Pattern from the drop-down.
  • Now, enter the pattern of your preference and confirm it by re-entering it.

3] Use PIN or Password

Our personal favourite weapon of choice, a numeric PIN or an alphanumeric password is available as well. Here’s how you can set up a new PIN or a Password and unlock your phone.

  • Start by opening the Settings application.
  • Navigate to Fingerprint, Face and Password > Lockscreen Password.
  • Choose PIN or Password from the list of options.
  • The next step is to enter your desirable PIN or password twice.

4] Fingerprint Unlock

If your phone does have a fingerprint scanner, either a rear-mounted, side-mounted or an in-display one, you could use it to unlock your phone effortlessly, that is without entering the password and just scanning your finger. Note that a fingerprint unlock or face unlock only works when there’s a PIN/Password/Pattern lockset.

  • tart by opening the Settings application.
  • Navigate to Fingerprint, Face and Password > Biometrics.
  • Choose Fingerprint and tap on Add a New Fingerprint.
  • Next, enrol your finger with the device and you’re all good.

The next time you try to unlock the device, you will have two options, one is the fingerprint, another one is Pattern or PIN or password (whichever you’ve selected).

5] Face Unlock

The final option and the most convenient one for people, you can unlock your phone when it recognizes your face too. Crazy isn’t it. Here’s how you can set up face unlock on your realme phone.

  • Open the Settings Panel on your smartphone.
  • Navigate to Fingerprint, Face & Password
  • Click on Face Unlock. 
  • Here, you’ll be asked for your previously set lock screen password.
  • Once entered, now register your face using the on-screen instructions, and you’re good to go
