Realme 9i bags the April 2022 Security update

In India, Realme has begun sending out a fresh software update for the Realme 9i. The smartphone is yet to receive the current Realme UI 3.0 software upgrade, so this isn’t the update we were expecting.

However, the newest security patch is included in this new update from the Chinese manufacturer for the Realme 9i handset. On the Realme 9i, the new update package includes firmware version RMX3491_11_A.14. This new OTA version includes the April 2022 security patch, as well as increased system stability, bug fixes, and Wi-Fi stability optimizations. The upgrade will be rolled out in phases, so just a few Realme 9i customers will get it first, and if no bugs are detected, the new update will be rolled out to all devices in India and globally. If you are a Realme 9i user in India, you can start looking for the new security update by heading over to Settings» Software update and tapping on Download and install. Alternatively, you can install the latest software after downloading the firmware file from realme’s database and flash it manually.

The Realme 9i was launched early this year with a 6.6 inches FHD IPS LCD that supports a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, an octa-core Snapdragon 680 4G chipset powers the device paired with up to 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The camera setup includes 50MP+2MP+2MP sensors along with a 16MP front-facing camera. The Realme 9i features a Li-Po 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.
