Realme X7 Max Starts Getting the January 2022 Security Update

The Realme X7 Max has finally started to get the January 2022 security patch with a new update. Realme has been bringing the January 2022 security patch to a chunk of its devices, and the realme X7 Max is the latest to the party now. Recently, Realme 8, Realme 6i, Realme C25Y, Narzo 10, and Narzo 10A received the update. Currently, the update is available to the Indian variant of the X7 Max and may be rolled out globally at a later stage.

Realme says to also fix some of the bugs which users might be facing previously; for instance, the changelog mentions fixing the problem where there would be no response while viewing pictures in some scenarios, fixing some of the black screen problems and more.

Realme X7 Max January 2022 A.22 Update Changelog:

  • Security
    • Integrates the January 2022 Android security patch.
  • System
    • Fixed the black screen problem in some scenarios.
  • Album
    • Fixed the problem of no response while viewing pictures in some scenarios.

The firmware version of the Realme X7 Max with the January 2022 Security Patch is RMX3031_11_A.22. One thing to note here is that this is not a major system update and doesn’t bring realme UI 3.0, hence implying that the device still runs on Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11.

Users can also check for the latest version by going to Settings » Software update and selecting Download and install from the drop-down menu. You can alternatively go to your device’s recovery mode get the proper firmware file from Realme’s database and flash it. Because Realme releases updates in stages, a small number of smartphones will receive the update first, followed by the remainder of the smartphones in the coming days, assuming no issues are discovered.
